Can anyone suggest upgrades for factory speakers
Hey guys,
I am planning on upgrading my factory nakamichi speakers but still using the factory amp in my gs. Can anyone suggest any speakers? I've looked at Infinity Kappa's and Boston Acoustics pro series. Thanks in advance.

not sure how much your factory amp is delivering to the speakers but it might be a waste of money to get speakers with high power handling capabilities unless you are looking to upgrade to an aftermarket amp later. Some of the more expensive speakers handle more power but also require more power to get them moving.

The JL's recommended Amp power is 10-75, max continuous 50w. Your amp does this.
These speakers are very effecient. The JL's just slam in the front door mount I fabed. I don't know your standards, but you are likely to be impressed with the improvement, it is substantial and are terrific with the stock amp. Speaking from experience, they play very loud and very clean, my door pulses hard with these in them.
Your Nak amp is just going to light either of those speakers up, no problem with power at all. Pleeeeazzzee do not worry you don't have enough power for either of the speakers, they are driven hard and well by the Pioneer amp, your Nak will push them even better.

I would suggest you go to a local audio shop and audition the different speakers bacause everyone has different preferences. I found the Infinity's to be a little harsh for my ears. It's better to be able to sample different types to find out what you really like.

I listen to a little bit of everything. What I mean by harsh is the high's tend to hurt my ears after an extended period of time. Try to listen to different types of music with the same speakers and you'll find the ones that fit your needs.
