XM Radio Antenna Extension
While working in my garage I like to listen to the XM radio in my GS. Unfortunately, I have to pull my GS almost 1/2 way out of the garage in order to receive the XM signal. I rather not have my '06 GS baking in the sun if it doesn't need to be, and if it's raining, it's not an option to leave the windows down.
So, I'm thinking of swapping XM antennas while the car's in the garage. I would disconnect the car antenna, and plug in a XM antenna with a 15-20 foot cord and place (or install) the antenna outside my garage. Does this make sense?
I've checked a few online sources for XM antennas and it appears my GS uses a two wire antenna (yellow and green connectors). I'm thinking of using a splitter, and using a single wire antenna for the garage antenna. I couldn't find any two wire XM radio antennnas. The few websites I visited called the two wire antennas an "old" style.
Anyone done something similar to this? Thanks.
