Default CD Changer got wet after rain and long drive!!!

I just drove my car to NJ from FL, I moved. I drove for about 13 hours straight with A/C running at all times befor I stopped for rest. The weather was hot, about 98 degrees at all times, so A/C was running hard. Out of those 13 hours it rained very hard for about last 3 hours, I mean poured as I drove 75 miles/hour. I have recently put a custom system. My power cable is ran inside the car on the same level as the CD player. It was installed by a good shop. Very clean install. While I was listening to my CD right befor I stopped, I noticed my HU buttons did not work and CD switched but display still showed same cd playing. I then rejected CD mag from CD changer and the mag and inside the changer was wet?! Anyone had same problem. Also I notice a very slight/tinny wind coming from passanger inside the car as I drive 70-80 miles/hour. Would it be possible that the power cord hole is getting rain in and CD changer gets wet or it is condinsation from A/C running 13 hours?

Default Good 'Ole Rain!

Since you have an aftermarket system, this may not apply completly. My stock Nak system shorted out the amp in the trunk during a rain because the drain tube from the sun roof area ran right by the amp. It had come loose and was dumping water onto the amp. Thus it shorted. I replaced the amp, put the drain hose back in its proper hole and used sealer to keep it there.
Also, there is a potential problem of the car telephone mute system being shorted by water under the back seat on the driver's side.
Here is a link that describes that. (scroll all the way down to see it)

I hope that this helps

Default Whoops!

Sorry about that. But, your problem is So typical of the SC300.Sc400 models that I did not even look at what car you had. I wonder, though, if there may be some application for you car. There must be some way that your car drains water from the roof to the ground. By the Amp??? Do the SC430's have a telephone mute system like the earlier SC models? Just some thoughts.
