I bought my 93 sc and i didnt get the key with the alarm button on it. I went to the dealer yesterday to find out how can i get another key. They told me its gonna cost me 375 for the key and chip and then 50 for the install.... Is it worth it thou? Since it has engine disable and im getting another chip? But i was wondering does the car make a beep when you enable or disable the alarm (like aftermarket ones) Or you juss have to listen for the doors to open and close.

 

The stock alarm will not beep. You have to listen for the doors.

IMHO, it's not worth it. I would just install an aftermarket system rather than go through with the key purchase. If you really want the new key, use the group buy here on CL for keys, it will get you a considerable discount (Expires: July 31st).
