Default Looking for feedback on Eclipse subs

I'm only starting my research on subs for the car. I'm only looking for a 10" (and possibly a 12"). I am more interested in SQ than SPL. I've read some info here about the different makes and am focusing on the Eclipse subs at the moment. There seems to be models between $100 - $350 for the sizes I am looking for. Of course I am automatically drawn to the Titaniums (start with the best and then see if the budget fits ) but then are they that much better than the other Alum ones.

Other makes may be a bit cheaper (or not) but they all seems to have different levels. For now, I am just trying to narrow my info focus.

The Eclipse Titanium & Aluminum are excellent, provided your wallet is not unlimited. There are better out there if you want to spend gobs of money. Alumapro also makes excellent aluminum 10's, nice & tight. I assume you're planning on putting these in an enclosure?
If you want something a notch better for not much more money, the Image Dynamics IDMAX10D4 V.3 should be awesome (I have the IDMAX12D4...). The JL Audio 10W6V2 or 10W7 is also excellent.

What's the rest of your system, to get a better perspective?

Check out www.woofersetc.com for pricing on all of these. (No!, I have nothing to do with them, just have dealt with them before.)

Of the 10's, the Eclipse Titanium, the IDMAX10D4, The JL10W6V2, and the JL10W7 are all near the same price range.

I would have liked to have an open air sub to minimize the work of a custom install but the choices of available subs are more limited. This is why I've moved on to ones in an enclosure. I will probably follow Dave's example since it is pretty simple and clean AND I can keep my rear STB. Sorry Dave. I will one day get out from your shadow but that day is not today.

What's the rest of your system, to get a better perspective?
I'll PM you the current plan. It is all still in the parts gathering phase so nothing is installed yet.

So if this is the case, it all comes down to the best deal I can get or is one substantially better than
another?

If you're not super-critical, I'd go for the best deal out of this batch, prob between Eclipse and JL.
