jl audio 500/1 help needed
hello i just finished my install of three 10w0 and a jl audio 500/1 amp. the sound is way better than i expected and everything is great. the problem im having is when i turn the radio off, i get this super loud bass note. i am using the jlaudio high/low converter plug that i spliced into my rear speaker of my gs300. i tries using both a remote turn on and using the signla sensing turn on and both make this loud bass note when i turn the radio off. what is really wierd is when i switch to the signal sensing turn on and i pulled the remote turn no wire from the amp. i turned the car totally off and took the key out and the speakers started going crazy with the same bass note. I have no idea whats going on and i need some serious help fast.

I don't recommend using the signal sensing turn on, it can get confused.
The problem you're having results from a combination of noise on signal lines and mistiming on the remote line. Do you have any turn-on relays in your system?

i do not have any turn on relays in my system. i took the remote signal from what looks to be an ignition wire, i have never experienced this problem before. should i try maybe getting the turn on lead from the cigarette lighter instead.
thanks for your help

You should ONLY be using your headunit's amp turn-on lead. As you have it hooked up now, you have no way of knowing what the turn-on timing is, and I'll guess that your amp can be on long before you ever turn your headunit on, and long afterward as well. This is just asking for the noise that you are experiencing. If you are not sure which wire to tap, get a copy of the radio schematics for your car, which may be available by doing a search on CL here. There have been many posts on this topic.
