Default Parking Brake Wire?

Ok, looking at this diagram:

If I were to cut the wire for the parking brake and ground the cut wire coming from the unit, it would think the parking brake is on, right?

The reason I ask is because I am looking at a VAIStech unit and it disables the video if the parking brake is not set. So if I were to ground the cut wire, it should see the parking brake...and the brake light in the cluster shouldn't turn on, right?

Yes,

You can run that wire to ground and it will be enabled all the time. They do this for a safety purpose so you won't watch TV while the car is in motion.

Thanks for the comfirmation. I was using the AV Electronics unit, but have had problems with interference noise and picture quality problems. Then just recently, the picture has been doing a "rolling" motion. So I'm fed up with it. Besides, I do want to get XM radio and this is the perfect way to do so through the AVIC-100x...plus, it's alot better integration overall with the stock navi system.
