Believe it or not there is now a gyro installed in these new Avic-N2's. Once you drive you cannot watch the movie. Now there is an input for a rear monitor so if you somehow loop the signal to think it is turning on the rear screens when in reality it is turning on the dash screen, it may work.
Wow did that make any sense?

yes i heard the same thing from my local stereo pioneer shop. i also heard if you upgrade the avic n1 with the newest software the software will also turn off the screen when the gyro is moving. and you cant go back to the old software once you put in the new just like lexus factory software. ..........................................................................................................................also when you do the navigation upgrade remember that your factory 6 disc gloverbox pioneer made cd changer can be also upgraded to work with the avic n1 or 2. the changer plugs into the avic connction box and has full function even cd text . this is a great adavantage to play your regular cds on your original glovebox changer without having to remove the navigation disc from the avic 1 headunit. and even thogh cd text wasnt avaialble in 1998 when the glovebox changers came out. the avic n1 and 2 headunits can read the cd text and display the titile on the avic screen. your factory changer can be upgraded and will work with any pioneer pbus headunit not just avic 1 and 2. .. so no need to give away your 1000.00 made in japan factory cd changer and put in some inferior new cd changer . your original glovebox changer is way better than anything you can buy new today.

whoa- what??

I have an Avic N1 and if I upgrade the software in the unit, I can connect my factory CD changer? I currently have the brain of the N1 sitting in the place of the factory CD changer and I don't know if there's much room back there for the brain to sit anywhere else.

If possible- I'd love to have the navigation cd in the unit and install the stock CD changer back into the dash to play CDs. Can you give me a few tips and directions on what I could do?

Thanks!!!
