Carputer is DONE!!!!!
Well, almost
I still need to load a bunch of software, adjust the settings on the amps and on my sound card's software (which is a PAIN). I also need to figure out wich terminals on my MB quart speakers are which, since the wiring diagram makes it look like the negative side terminal is bigger then the positive side (which normally it shouldnt be). But other then that, its all done. When my spring break rolls around I am going to refinish the center console piece (got a little crack in it while installing it) and put it back to brown except for the area around the screen, that I want to leave black (you'll see )
A couple of teaser pics below. More to come tomorrow!

I actually put all the hardware in a custom box that I built where the CD changer used to be. Holes on the bottom of the box slide over some of the bolts that were there securing the CD changer, and that combined with a little bit of Velcro keeps it from moving around.
And moving around a little isnt going to cause any damage. The most important thing is just mounting the hard drive vertically.

lookin' good man! keep those carputer's coming...
I've been so busy, I haven't been able to test 0l33l's Navi Voice software...I need to get MapMonkey's navigation embedded also...anyone wanna hook me up with the required stuff?
Calvin: no worries about the vibrations man....I've had mine for about 8 months now...zero problems...I've set mine up with a 2.5" HD containing the OS and navigation software on it, so in case my 3.5" HD fails, I'll only lose my mp3s and music videos...
Mteele: which screen did you end up getting? Lilliput or Xenarc?
