Default Q on Subs for the SC

hi,
I think i'm going to fix my car audio for good this winter. Last winter, I bought a JL10ib4 "new" from someone and it turned out broken.
after going through all the trouble that it takes to install a sub in the stock location once, i think i'm going to look into just getting a box in the trunk.
my question is this: what's a good sub for the money that's smaller than a 10w3 (had my friend's in my car for a few months..it just takes too much space)
also. what are your opinions on brands like diamond and Arc. i think i'm thru w/ JL
i'm probably going to buy used to save.. and my budget is under $150

thx

I have a 15 Phoenix Gold ti in my trunk. It doesn't take up as much space as you would think but with the 2 amps in the trunk, nothing else can fit. I think the Pg sub is one of the very best for the money. They were once 300 bucks but PG did away with the line for a new line of subs ans the prices dropped by 200 bukcs. I previously has an Alumapro Alusonic 12 in the trunk and it cost about $100. I liked it but it eventually died for some reason. Diamond and Arc are very good brands. 150 will buy you what you want.
