Default Cigarette power doesn't seem to be working... diagnose how?

How should I diagnose the cig. lighter? Don't think it's been used in 11yrs, wonder if a fuse is burnt out..

wanted to charge my phone, and my cig lighter charger wouldn't turn on(led on the charger), where/how should I check/diagnose?

Also what is a good constant power to tap for hardwiring a radar and what not? I'll check the fuses tommorrow in the daylight to see about the cig. lighter..

my doorwell lights also seem to not be working, wonder if they are all tied together, they were working last week when I got the car, seems odd.

fuses are in the driver side kick panel behind the carpet, check EVERY SINGLE ONE. BUT>>>> before you do, look inside it to see if you have a penny or some loose object inside it grounding out.

Search would have told you this in over 30 threads

yes, pennies & dimes in cigarette lighter seem to be a common problem..... if a fuse were out, heater, fan controls etc. would not be working.

if there isnt a penny then the lighter is broke, i had to replace mine. i tried to use my buddys valentine one and it didnt work. its about a SEVENTY dollar part at the dealership unless u know someone, which i do! so i got it for like 46ish but yea if its a fuse then the a/c controls wont work either. yes the trim ring lights up green unless u take the little green light bulb "condom" off

Default Climate control and cigarette lighter didn't work

Did a search which lead me to the solution (thanks everyone!), but I thought I would post this in case others have had the same issue.

After starting my car this afternoon, I noticed that my climate control had nothing - no ac , no fan, nada. I also noted that my I couldn't charge my cell with my cigarette lighter. I took it to my local guy and he checked the fuses under the hood. When I got home, I found out on Clublexus that there were more fuses inside. I found the cig lighter fuse was blown and tested another, voila - my cig lighter works and climate control is back on line.

Just in case anyone is searching on this, my cig lighter just died last night. Checked the fuse and it's fine. Luckily, my whole dash is apart, so getting to the lighter was no problem. Turns out there is a fusible link on the back of the lighter itself. Mine melted. So, just to note, there are two "fuses" related to cigarette lighting. I'll probably take a picture of it and post a thread in the electrical forum for future searches...
