Default What does MP3 player do?

Guys,

Ok, I know this sounds really dumb but someone please explain.

If I dl a song from the Internet and burn it onto a cd, I just need a headunit that will play CD-R's right?

So what does a headunit that says CD/MP3 on it actually do? Does this just mean it plays CD-R's or what??

Thx,
Jonny

If it says it plays MP3 files, it means you can burn those files directly onto the disc in .mp3 format and it will recognize and play them. Typically when you are burning the files to CD using a program like Nero, it automatically converts the files into the format that normal CD players recognize.

The reason for leaving files in .mp3 format is that they take up a LOT less space, so you can put a ton more songs on a disc.

Did that help you at all?

To somewhat reiterate, a regular cd song is in .wav format, giving you about 15-17 songs, while
.mp3 format with an mp3player gives you about over 100 songs? This is nice so that way, you really don't need to have a regular cd changer.

1 cd in mp3 = ~100 songs
oem changer= 6 cds (about 72-90songs)....boooooo
