It's possible depending on the installer. Might have to build it out to a 4 inch depth but the main thing to worry about is clearing the window rails. On the install, is the interior to be kept stock or will he build out the door panel somehow?

My installer understands to do whatever he needs to do in order to get the 4" depth & maintain the full function of the door (window opening & closing, door locks, etc.)

Damn, the skematic of the MD130 didn't look that bad as far as size goes. I was hoping to built out the stock tweet location in the upper window frame area (angle them for a more accurate speaker response). If they can't fit in the stock location, then I may opt for the kick panels but I would rather not. I'll have to do something, I just ordered over a $1,000 worth of fron t drivers!!!

Marken,

Try a custom pod mount for the dash. Or you could go with kickpods.

Unhappy Aw Sh#!

I just looked @ the Dynaudio site & noticed that the MD130 drivers may be the best tweets, but them sons-a-b#$%&s are 8 ohm drivers.

If I'm using a 75x4 amp on both the midbass & tweet, how can I wire the speakers or amp to get the proper wattage balance between the tweet & midbass.

Do you feel my pain????

Default Don't panic...

Marken,

That's why Dyn has an adjustable level crossover. From what I've noticed of my McIntosh meters, the power draw for a tweet rarely goes above 5 watts. The midbass, however, goes well above that on a good listening session. You don't need equal power to each driver due to differences in efficiency, spectral balance, etc.

Default 8 ohm Dyn's

Percy, remember that I'm not using the Dynaudio crossover, as the set I'm ordering are the drivers alone. The Dyn's up front would be routed to a Sony XEC1000. Remember that crossover? Well, I have one brand new in box that I'll use until I can get the RF Symmetry.

Is there cause for concern with the MD130 8 ohm tweets being used without the Dynaudio crossover? What do I need to do in order to compensate/adjust for 4 ohm midbass?

BTW, I changed my order & dumped the MW160's for the MW170's. After looking @ my door panels, there should be adequate room for a 4" depth panel. There would just need to be some special attention placed around the edge of the door panel area that is close to the dash. Don't want the panel to sandwich itself between the dash & door upon closing.

Anyone interesting in coming to the Washington DC area for my Bachelor party this Saturday???

You are all welcomed!! I'm sure the ladies would appreciate that!!

You should be fine. What are the specs on the xec1000?

In this case, set the crossover frequency and adjust the levels to your liking. That's all there is too it.

Talking Sony xec-1000 specs

Percy, the Sony XEC1000 is a 10 channel electronic xover that is supposedly Sony's crossover masterpiece.

Here's a link to an eBay auction with someone selling the identical unit I have. The only difference is that mine is black.

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=1231572304

This second link will give you a closer look at the unit. Also from eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=1232251169

After bring piped thru the xec1000, the o/p will lead to the i/p of the Sony xe-90.

What do you think? This should help, huh??!
