I have an RX330 with the ML Stereo and Nav but I don't have the RSES (Rear Seat Entertainment System).
I am having a third party DVD player installed Friday which has an output for an additional LCD monitor (Line level video and audio).
Is it possible to connect this output to an input on the factory MS Stereo and the Nav screen so I can have the same functionality as the factory RSES; that is watch DVD while stopped with emergency brake engaged?
Has no one successfully displayed video on the nav unit? There must be an AUX input of some type for the Lexus rear entertainment system. Can someone post how to locate the connector and wires that Lexus uses to get video to the Nav screen from the factory entertainment system?
The Audiovox DVD player is now installed in my RX330. It looks great. I got the PROV716 in shale. It matches the tan interior nicely.
The installer put the aux monitor cable under my drivers seat so I could access it later. I am hoping to feed the signal to the nav display so the DVD/TV output will be displayed while not moving with the emergency brake applied. Like the factory system does.
So far I have not been able to find wiring diagrams. There is a set of RX330 repair manuals for sale on e-bay. It includes 3 volumes. The third volume claims to cover Audio/Entertainment.
Does anyone have these manuals? Do they have the wiring diagram that shows the factory DVD system connecting to the head end and/or nav units?
Talking to myself again...
Has anyone been able to find the wiring diagrams for the nav system and head unit? Do the manuals for sale on e-bay include these wiring diagrams?
There must be a set of RGB inputs to the nav screen. I am betting that there is a second set of RGB inputs that are used for the factory RSES to input video when the vehicle is stopped and the parking brake is set.
there are units out there that can do it. some are plug and play while some involves a big amount of wire cutting. do a search on the forum and you should be able to find it
