I have a '91 LS and was wondering can I put an aftermarket headunit in? I was told that there are none that fit the double din opening. Is this true?

Also can I fit 225 series tires on the stock 15 inch rim?

if you search around, there are plenty of 1st gen LS owners with aftermarket headunits... and for the tires, tirerack.com should give u all the answers

 

u can put any standard aftermarket headunit you want in your car. you just have to get a dash kit-about$20. i have a alpine 9813 in my 91Ls.

 

I have come up with a great solution, here me out.... aftermarket radios are small have very small buttons and are often stolen cause they will fit anything, i being a former auto tech knew that the wiring on lexus radios are the same as toyota, I bought a 6 disc indash changer for a tundra pickup with the amp ( you will need the one with the corners not the one that is rounded on the corners),this radio is perfect the wiring plugs right in it even has the dual antenna set up , the radio mounts in the exsisting bracket perfectly you will need to make a panel to cover about a quarter of an inch on the bottom and the wedges on either side of the radio this is simple to make and the radio looks like all of the other buttons in the car if your interested we can talk more about it
