Lightbulb LS400 Subwoofer

Hey everyone, I want to change my sub in my 1994 LS400. I just want to change the stock sub. If that even possible? Anyway, I wanted to know how big the stock subwoofer is. 10"? Plesae let me know. Thanks a lot!

Yes, it's a 10" subwoofer.

You can change it with a little work.

If you keep the freeair type it is just a simple swap but any other types will need another amp to power the new sub.

I am not certain about the 1994, but the Gen 1 1992 certainly has a 8" woofer, with 2-ohm impedence. It is impossible to find. However, I replaced mine in the 1992 with a 8", 4-ohm woofer, in parallel with a 4-ohm resistor to give a combination 2-ohm system, and it has worked great for over 4 months now. Total cost of replacement was $19 for the polypropylene cone with rubber. Sound is terrific. I got mine on sale at circuit city.
