Unhappy lighter

a penny or piece of metal shorted out my lighter. I replaced the fuse but now my lighter still does not work. I need to use it for my phone charger. I went and picked up one from Autozone but can't seem to get it reconnected. Any suggestions?

We could use some more details. Did you remove the center console? (Instructions on CL).

The lighter is fed by a red and a white-with-brown-stripe wire, as shown below. If they are "hot", then you're set to go. If not, and you replaced fuse, the wires feeding the lighter are burned or broken- you may have to run new wires.
