cd changer question
i have a 1994 sc300 with the factory 12 disc cd changer in the trunk. I once took this out and when i put the part back in it wouldnt work. The problem is that the changer will not lower the cd cartridge down to the postion to play cds. The changer itself will power up, but it just makes a noise as if it is trying to pull the cartridge into place, but to no avail.
Does anyone know if this is simply a problem with the cartridge itself, or could it maybe be a problem with the cd changer unit as a whole.
I would really appreciate any help that anyone could give me on this matter.
Thanks
Tom

I had the same problem- when the cartridge is removed, there is a little metal arm that sticks out where the cartridge goes (on the back side parallel with the quarter panel). Bend it back into place and it should work again. Hope this helps
I have this same problem.
Did you get it fixed. I am a little confused by the "little metal arm...parrallel to the quarter panel" I don't see it? Could you plese clarify where this arm is?

no i discovered the arm after i slammed it with my fist and broke it for good
The little arm that comes out is the one that pushes the cds into the actual player. The tray that moves up and down gets stuck on this arm, and the arm only pushes the cds only half way out, causing the whole unit to malfunction
