Default Oh Crap.....

I'm having the same problem and it cuts the radio off for a second and dims the various dash and console lights. I recently had the alternator replaced, and the battery is a Lexus Battery about 2 or so years old. Now for the difference in my ghost is that this seems to only occur when it's really wet or damp outside, like during and after rains. This never occured prior to the alternator being replaced. Thought it could be an alternator problem with the new alternator.

Any new thoughts?

Hansjl, check out my post above. The same thing happened to my SC several years ago and my problem was a poor ground between the negative battery cable and the chassis (a common problem I understand). I had dash light problems, radio problems, cruise control problems, etc. Since I added the small ground cable from the negative terminal to the chassis, my problem has never returned. PM me if you need any details.

Default Thanks for the replys

I guess the next step is to make sure the ground is good. This only started after the new alternator and power steering pump were replaced. Darn thing is it only happens when it rains or is really damp (but not always).

Thanks, it's a 95 SC400 and the picture floats on CL somewhere in the archives. It does look good (not just because it's mine).

Have a safe and great holiday weekend!!!!!!!!
