Default Ported Sub Formula

Does anybody use this when making enclosures?......It seem like I see enclosures made to fit the trunk without following the formulas, it seems people are into looks instead of proper sound...........FEED BACK PLEASE!!

Well, some people use the formulas directly if they're lacking all of the manufacturer's data. But generally the speaker manufacturer will provide a recommended enclosure volume range, and many will provide frequency response plots for a given set of enclosure volumes, and/or enclosure types (ported, sealed, etc...) Most installers will just follow those guidelines. Keep in mind that those fiberglass enclosures that are odd shaped to fit the trunk actually provide sonic benefits in that there are no parallel walls and thus no internal standing wave reflections, provided they are the correct internal volume. They will sound as good or better than a rectangular enclosure of equal volume.
