You should have a crossover if you have component speakers. Just run wire from the amp to the crossover, then run two wires from the crossover to the cooresponding component (either the woofer or tweeter).

Does that help?

when repalcing just the speaker, which of the two wires is positive, and which is negative.. GRay or GRay/black

Not 100% sure, but should be the Gray & Black - usually the solid wire is + and the striped wire is -.

RST: How deep are the stock front enclosures if I were to reuse them?

just use the bottom half of the stock enclosure to make a template. The SC doors are quite deep and can accomodate pretty much any speaker

I used this write up to remove my door panel in order to fix the notoriuos cracked upper door panel. Nice write up, great pics. Thanks!

trust me that your "nak" is not going to sound better then a set of nice components and a 4 channels amp

Yeah, but I know where he's coming from... the Nakamichi is free, after all.

Plus, it's not like Nakamichi is some off-brand. They were like the Mark Levinson of the 90's. A set of components to justify replacing the nak's would easily run upwards of $500 plus a decent amp. We're talking minimum of Polk Momo and up towards the Boston Pro and mid-range Focal stuff.

thats sort of my current setup. polk momo 4ch. polk momo sub amp. infinity kappa perfect front components, infinity reference rear components, kicker cvx 12" sub, alpine cda-7998 HU, xm, ipod.....as borat would say...i like

I am tryin to put an aftermarket amp with the stock system. Is this possible??????????? I have the Nak unit in my 92sc400>

Thx for this post also. i used it to strip my Lex and finally start changin out the old system in it. I'm gonna try to install a pioneer HU, after the amp install. Sometime next month I am gettin the whole car painted white. I have so much work to do
