Default CD louder than radio

My volume level on CD's is almost twice as loud as the radio when I switch sources. Does anyone else have this problem? Any way to adjust the gain on the factory amp?

My 01 GS with ML does the same. I have to adjust the volume every time I switch the source, but I think it's normal. The CD sound quality is much better than the over the air from FM or AM and when you're in the tight space( in your car) you can tell the difference better than in your home.

Alpine's do the same thing. It's just the difference in quality between CD, and radio reception.

THE REASON IS THE RADIOS HAVE INTERNAL EQUALIZERS THAT TURN ON TO FULL FIDELITY WHEN YOU TURN ON THE CD. IT WOULD BE THE SAME VLOUME DROP ON MANUAL EQUALIZER IF YOU SHUT DOWN ALL THE FREQUECIES. ITS ALSO THE REASON AN FM MODULATED CHANGER IS A POOR CHOICE BECAUSE THE HEADUNIT DOESNT RECOGNIZE A CD IS PLAYING AND KEEPS RADIO AT LOW FI FOR TAPE AND FM.
