Question

Someone told me that the Lexus Key can be configured to have the windows and sunroof open and close from the key buttons. Has anyone ever heard of this being done, or better yet, has it done on their own key? Can anyone give me some more information or was the information that I received just some B.S.????

Thanks

I believe this is one of the features that the dealer can configure in the car's computer.

It is normally set on when it comes from the factory and will perform as LexusRules describes.

If yours doesn't do this, it should. Have the dealer change the setting.

Default REMEMBER THIS THO...

Just holding the unlock button for a few seconds should make the windows and moonroof go down, but you have to make sure that the switch that controls your rear view mirrors is set in the L position (like to move the Left rear view mirror). If it is set in the middle, or to R, then it won't work!! This might be different for other models. I have a 2000 GS400.

I have a 98 GS 300 and it works with my rear view mirror switch set to the middle.

IMHO it is useless because it takes too long(10 to 15 sec.) to make the windows and moonroof go down. You have to hold down the unlock button for that long. Lexus should have made it one touch once you held the unlock button down for 5 sec. it would start going down without you holding the button down.

Are you trying to let hot air out? Our A/C is so good i just jump in my car then turn it on and instant cooling.
Just my thoughts though.

Cool

I have a 98 GS400 and it doesn't matter what position the rear view mirror switch is set to.

It works in right, middle or left.
