Question Remote programming

I know this was subject was discussed but I could not find any mention if the immobiliser and remote door lock programming need to be done in a particular sequence or are they completely independent?
Does anyone know?
I have a remote master that does not seem to want programm either. The battery is probably OK (lights do blink when buttons pressed).

Thank you

The light on the remote blink it's doesn't mean the battery is o.k. The best way is check the voltage of the battery with digital volts meter. It should be 3 volts.

I will check it, just to be sure. Do you know if the immobiliser has to be programmed before the remote will work?

Thanks

If your master key can start the car, then you don't need to programmed. Only time you have to program the key( immobilizer) is when you buy a new key. You'll need two procedures to program the master remote key, one for the immobilizer and another one for remote entry.

As VVT-i said there are 2 programs for a new key. If its not new and starts the car the imobiliser program does not need to be done.

Default Key update

Checked the battery - it was about 2.9V - replaced it.
The key was a replacement key (not programmed).
This time I managed to get the engine immobiliser programmed - although the key for some reason doest not turn in the ignition lock - it works OK in all the other locks.
The remote programming so far did not take - I must be messing up on som step.
I will try again tommorow.
Thanks for the suggestions.
