Sub replcement...now my third brake light rattles :(
I changed my stock 10" free air sub out for an aftermarket pioneer 10" free air sub, powered by a pioneer amp a few years ago. I've always wondered why it didn't sound as good as I had hoped, but recently, I took a closer look and I realized why. I removed my third brake light (the cover to the sub) the other day and now my sub sounds about a million times better! This cover had been rattling all this time with the bass.
My question is: How should I secure the third brake light? Any ideas?
Also, my sub almost touches my gas tank...in fact, I think it does touch sometimes. How do you guys elevate the sub? I was thinking about using some extra washers. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Had the same problem.
Basicaly the third brake light hits the glass.
What I did was a thin piece of foam same color as the interior (mine is gray)
Tuck that in between the brake light and the glass.
If done neatly it should not be to visable on mine you can't even see it due to tinted windows.

If anyone tries this before I do, let me know if it worked for you...
