GTE on its way

GTE on its way
So I finished rebuilding the shortblock today. I will paint it and assemble the lower pans. and oil pump and seals tomorrow. along with head.
I had a little issue with a misleading tech section of the FSM that made the piston ring install longer than expected, but once I got that squared away it was smooth sailing.

It took me 3 days (after work) 6pm-8pm each day to completely disassemble the engine from a running turnkey setup to a bare block with nothing but oil squirters in it. After inspection and catalogging of all the parts that were removed, I began making a list of things that I wanted to replace.
I replaced... Piston Rings, All gaskets. Sent the crank out to be micropolished. Bought GTE Engine rebuild gasket set, new bearings (main and rod) from toyota. To do that you must number match items. (see FSM for details)
I reinstalled the crank and pistons yesterday. What takes a long time is actually cleaning the piston rings grooves when the rings are removed.
It took me about 3days working in my spare time to reassemble the valve train into the head as well. I could have probably done ALL of this in a weekend. Life is not as forgiving though. Lots of other things to do as well as my car hobby.
I anticipate everything to be buttoned up by end of this week. I will start working on my turbo and manifold mounting shortly. More details to come. I dont get a chance to snap too many pictures when I am working because I like to focus 100% on what I am doing. If i had an assistant willing to document this project. they could snap away
Until then, its whatever sparse pics I have when Im taking a 5min breather (usually when I finish one task and am prepping for the next)

^I had talked to Dan back when I had planned to use the GTE intake manifold and user my lower runner to create a hybrid type manifold. I have since changed my mind to focus on other things right now.
How big of a WG are you going? I had planned on using a 40mm, but since I have changed I am now sportin a 50
