Got the quote to apply PPF to the front bumper and fenders.
Also, to remove the partial PPF from the hood and fenders (why this was done I have no clue!) that are already there and replace with PPF full coverage.

My car is due at Lexus of Wichita *any day*. I expect to head up there sometime around the 29th-30th of December. I will miss the "big freeze" by a week - gonna be 3 degrees for the HIGH temperature on Thursday.
I am selling my trade-in locally (retail) and flying up there. Still watching the weather to determine if it's OK to drive it back. Closed carrier is not too expensive given that it's "only" a 9 hour drive. I can have them bring it directly to the PPF/Ceramic shop down here in Austin.
Still, it's 560 miles in winter on a new car. So you may not have bugs to worry about, but rock chips are always on the roadway. If it were me, I would spring for a roll of 2.88" x 60 yds. of 3M painters tape ($15. @ Home Depot) and put it across the front of my bumper, fenders and hood. It won't hurt the factory paint that's baked on, plus, it's only going to be on for a day, or two. It would be different if you weren't going to get the PPF for several months.
Spring for the $15.
However, if you really want to spend the big bucks, like $25., then even better would be Track Armour tape. That's what I would use. Here's a link if it works (if not, then highlight and search or go to Amazon):
