Default Used 2019 Coupe with 270 mi?!

Hey folks, I am waiting on a new coupe with my color preferences but in the meantime, a dealer I'm working with alerted me that a high end neighboring dealership got a 2019 (in my colors) with only 270 miles on it. If everything is on the up-and-up, my suspicion is the owner bought it as a toy and never drove it, then traded it in. The dealer is close enough where I can inspect the vehicle with little problem. I don't even know yet if the Lexus dealership would buy it, make it a LC with extended warranty, and resell.

I am not an expert on (extremely) low mileage used cars, so - should a 3+ year old LC with 270 miles send up significant red flags? Rollback? Obviously I would get full Car Fax, etc.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Lots of high-end “toy” cars with less than 500 miles.

No red flags based solely on that.

Get it inspected if you have doubts.

definitely get it inspected by a professional.
why would you need your local lexus dealer to buy the car? you can get warranty from the other dealer, unless i'm misunderstanding.

I don’t (need them to buy it), but they may already be in the process of buying it themselves based on the sales guy’s message, won’t know probably until tomorrow. If they aren’t, I can deal directly. Also he sent me the spec sheet and it’s got the performance package, etc. so pretty loaded.

One of the cheapest places to get Lexus factory extended warranties is Wolverine Toyota in Michigan. I have a contact for you if you want it.
As long as you get it before your factory 4 yr/50k miles warranty runs out.
The other real cheap dealer for warranties is in New Hampshire I think. I've gotten 2 Platinums from Wolverine.

Don't be afraid. I just bought last week a 2018 LC with only 1462 miles!! It was a corporate car. The dealership inspected it, changed the oil, installed Apple Carplay and I am happy. Car was delivered last Saturday!

So I spoke to the Lexus folks and the process that has started is that Lexus put in a bid for the 2019 LC Coupe, and they will certify it (extending the warranty) and I've got right of first refusal. All depends if they get the vehicle. Porsche (where it was traded in) will probably pass it on rather than sell it themselves, but I've got right of first refusal when/if Lexus gets it.

if it's already for sale at the porsche dealership and if lexus (dealer) buys it from them, isn't it likely lexus dealer will then sell it for a lot more?

Not for sale at the Porsche dealer (that was the first thing I checked). They are soliciting bids from dealerships as well as *maybe* independent used car dealers (just a guess). So it seems like it's a pre-retail process that individual buyers cannot take part in. But, yeah, there'll be a markup for sure.

Weird that in this used-car market their FIRST thought was to wholesale the car…..
