My best friend's dad just received a horrible cancer diagnosis and has been given less than a year to live. I've known him since I was 2 and he a is good man. One of the best! He has always loved Lexus and has owned an SC and a GS. I was hoping to find a Lexus LC that I could rent for a few days for him as a surprise to cheer him up. I've tried all the rental sites with no luck. He is nuts over this car and it would just mean the world to him to be able to drive one for a couple of days.

I am happy to pay whatever fee you'd require and provide any sort of collateral to ensure the return of your vehicle. I will get the car detailed before I return and top off the fuel tank as well!

Sorry to hear the news but have you tried Turo yet? My buddy rented a GSF through there so someone local to you may have an LC on there.

Justin, taking your request at face value, you sound like a wonderful young man.

I also have stage four cancer, which will be terminal in a few years if nothing else gets me first. If we lived closer, I would let you borrow my LC 'vert in a heartbeat. I hope you succeed. Please let us know how it goes.

May as well make something good out of this. So...once again...guys, make sure you get PSA blood tests, which can indicate the presence and/or progression of prostate cancer. Get that blood test a least once a year, more frequently if you have the chance. They're covered by virtually every health insurance plan. Don't let anyone talk you out of this.

lexforrent --- I know it’s a long shot, but maybe someone on this forum can assist you in making this happen at a local Lexus dealership. Not new of course, but maybe a used or demo. It would be a great PR story for Lexus.

Redhot thanks for the info, I know presently they will not give you a PSA test if you are over the age of 70. Whenever I get a physical I insist on the test. I will keep you in my thoughts & prayers.

 

I guess it depends on the doc, the insurance company and who knows what else, but no one I know who is over 70 has encountered any problem getting a PSA test. Regardless, thanks for the kind words.

 

There have some very impressive and very recent developments in the cancer fight, one very recent small trial had 100% of patients go into direct remission, this has never happened before.

There is an LC500 in Columbus, Ohio on Turo. I rented it a few weeks back and it was very straight forward to do and the owner was great. Sorry to hear about your friend. Hope that you can make this happen. Good Luck.
