I have a couple of very small chips on my Infared LC in need of touch up paint. I noticed on the Dr. Color Chip site that they don't guarantee results since Infared is a tri-coat paint process. Has anyone here used that brand or recommend a different one? And would you mind sharing your results?
Thank you,
Chris in Houston

I imagine touching up infrared would be tough to get a close match since it appears to be a silver base with a translucent red and pearl over it, and then clear over that.
rock chips are a fact of life , esp if you live out in the country, like me and my caviar ride.
i'm sure there are more elaborate methods to watch on y tube,
but i've had pretty good results with the old needle trick: after thorough cleaning w/
an alcohol swab, obtain a drop of paint on the end of a needle, and touch the drop
to the void left by the rock chip; capillary action will draw the paint in.
At my dealership they told me that I need 3T5 and 3T5-BC one is base coat and another one is top one. Don’t know yet how it will work I need to paint one little area on a bottom edge of the door.
I picked up the nail polish from Walmart today. In the next couple of days I will try and post the comparison of the car color, the factory touch up and the nail polish color so everyone can compare. Please don't hold be to a time line, things crazy busy here.
Thanks
Glenn

I used those to paint little scratch on the edge of the door. It worked very well. It looks exact same. I also had a doubt how it will work and tried it on some metal scrap to see how mix will look like, and it looked exactly like on a car.
