Default Alcantara inserts

Do the Alcantara inserts on the seats wear more quickly than the leather? I'm looking at a 2020 with the performance package and sport seats and it looks like the Alcantara is on the seat back and seat cushion and it looks like they are already starting to show some wear after 16K miles.

There are some us here, who prefer leather. I have the Touring Package, because of the leather seats. I would have bought the Sport Package if it came with leather seats, but that was not an option.

Yeah I was thinking of going with the Touring to get all leather. Thanks for the info.

I just picked up my LC on Saturday. I thought I too wanted touring, but bought it with the sport package because it was the right color combo and they had the CF spoiler, ML stereo and HUD, so I thought, i will at least try it out and see how the sport seats with Alcantara feel.

It was 80 degrees when I picked it up, and the car was outside, ready to go. The seats look great and they were NOT hot or even warm from baking in the sun. I loved that. I mean, I wear shorts all summer long.
Yes, I bought it.

The best part, I was wearing jeans and drove home with windows open and my legs didn't "bake" like they normally do when warm out with jeans on with leather seats. I have all leather in my SC430, and it got a little warm while wearing jeans on a hot summer day.

The seats are soft and luxurious, and better than I imagined. Everyone that sits in the car loves how the seats cradle you . I mean, if you are driving a car like this, it might as well feel like you are driving a car like this So glad I got the Alcantara. I don't care if they are not leather, nobody else cares either. if feels nicer and keeps you cooler, plus the seats are so comfortable. I had a 6 hour drive home. I have a bad back, go to massage once a week and a chiro once a month to keep me functioning good. And it supports the back so well, I was able to walk normal when I got home, which never happens.

ChicagoRJ - agree completely the sport seats are incredibly comfortable and don't get hot.

The good thing about the LC is that the leather seats (and I presume alcantara) are cooled. If they are hot or getting hot then simply dial in a comfortable seat/back temp. As for wear, then I'm mightily surprised they are showing this at 16k miles! I've had alcantara on a goodly number of cars and with much higher miles and no sign of wear, and in all honesty I prefer it to leather simply because I live in a cooler clime. Could you be misinterpreting how the pile "shades" for wear?

Regardless how this stuff looks and feels when new, it will never stand up to leather in the test of time.

I agree. I don't see fancy suede looking the same after 5-7 years but I could be wrong.

I agree, so the upside is it will give me an excuse to look for another newer version
