Default Lc 500h?

Started looking at the LC500H as I own an RX450H and starting to really like it(both). Any LC members have an 'H' model? Curious as to how it is performing and if it would be bought again.
I will be looking at a Convertible or an "H" model depending on availability at the time. Will be looking seriously starting in April. Maybe Toyota will be 'unhacked' by then....

The LC500h is a rare bird. In both Calendar Years 2020 and 2021 Lexus sold a total of Fourteen Hybrid LC models for each year. I do not know if any "h" model owners are members of this forum, but I do not recall any postings by "h" owners.

I knew they were rare. I have seen a couple for sale, but not many. Oh well, will idle away while I get ready to start seriously looking for my next ride.

I had an original LC500H, but sold it in 2020 with 50K miles on it. No issues with it before I sold it, but I do recall wondering if the H model was really worth it from a mileage/performance tradeoff perspective. If I recall the H model MPG was around the same as my previous V6 F-Type. I wish Lexus would make a fully electric LC500 which would then make me circle back for the first time to a previous model car I have owned.

well i expect a fully electric lc500 would be wholly different than your lc500h.

Two 2018 hybrids in our family, we love 'em and no regrets whatsoever.

The first LC500 I ever saw, and why I bought mine, was a hybrid. You do lose the awesomeness of the V8 exhaust at full chat. And that IMO is no small part of the whole deal.

I have a LC500h, and love it. I previously had an ISF which was fantastic, but in the real world (UK traffic, UK roads and congestion, UK fuel prices) the LCh is comfortable, relaxing and the realistic option. When you want to boot it, it as fast as the V8 version, but (and here's the drawback), it doesn't have the wonderful V8 noise - which I do miss. However, you can't have it all, and I don't regret buying the LCh at all. If you want a convertible, I believe the convertible doesn't come with a hybrid option i.e. V8 only.

Good luck with the search

So far looks like a toss up between a convertible or a 500h. It will depend on the availability of each when I start seriously shopping. Many good aspects to both. I do like my wife's RX450h, when she lets me drive it.....

Also speaking as a UK 500h owner then I too have no real beefs with the hybrid and in many ways it suits the needs of a UK driver, albeit I too would not say no to a V8. If I am being critical, then I would say the auto box/cvt arrangement was in fact spoiled by the supposed insistence buyers wanted the traditional feel of a completely automatic transmission. This has resulted in artificial "gear" changes, and for my money it may well have been better to leave the cvt as a stepless change. Whether this is a consequence or not, I do find the transmission can get itself into a bit of a mess, particularly on downhill drives and sudden accelerations. In all other respects it is just fine, albeit without the V8 soundtrack. I'd also say fuel costs here in the UK are currently at circa $7.60 a US gallon. Not sure what you are paying but with every likelihood fuel will rise to $9.50 by the end of this year then the extra economy from the hybrid makes owning one of these cars a little more palatable.

As an "h" owner..... Many think I bought because of gas prices and want to save a couple bucks. That's not true as if we can own a $100k+ vehicle, the extra $20 at the pump is really meaningless. What I care about is range which translates to less time/planning in going to fill up at the station, and time is something that I do value. One less trip per week as a daily adds up in quality of life. She's a GT, not a roadster and I treat her as such.

You've got to be impressed with that when you remember you are driving a 2 ton plus car! My wife's Mini Cooper S (now gone), and at 1.5 ton, would struggle to achieve that even with an ultra careful right foot.

Contemplating the new Sequoia or the new LX600. Sequoia has the Hybrid and the Lexus has a 6 with twin turbo's all gas. I will drive both B4 we buy.
But I'm !@#$%^&*(), not sure. I have reservations about the Hybrid or is probably what I don't know about it.
