The Issue I was torn with, I average so far, 5500 miles per year. It is stored in winter. The total mileage in another 6yrs for a total of 10 if we purchase the extended, will be about 55-60K in 2028. So I need to decide.
Thanks again for the feed back all. Its appreciated.

The LC is out since 2017 and I don't see common problems. So it is low risk IMO. Unlike my early 2005 C6 Corvette, the only car I ever got the extended warranty because the first few years saw many common problems. It might have cost $1000, I forget. But my extended warranty repairs were in the $8K range. I did not get the warranty for my C5 or C7.

I have always thought extended warranties are a waste of money. They rarely cover things that commonly break (i.e. windows, *****, brakes, etc). Just read ALL the fine print. One of my clients was a national warranty company. They make bank because they manipulate people to buy them and rarely pay out. Great business model for them

On my 2018 LC500 I have the Lexus extended warranty

I expect it to have the similar problems my IS-F had

I have used third party extended warranties in the past, some to great success.

It pays to do your research extensively

Can you share what "problems" you had? I ask because I'm seeing nothing being reported this side of the pond, but that maybe (almost certainly is) because there are far fewer LC's on our roads.

Issues with LC? or with my (old) IS-F?

So far on the LC, just had minor battery issue

Some minor rattling that was easily fixed

Even Carplay got added

Further down the road I expect starter to go out, valley plate issue, no idea on the transmission as it's new from Lexus, but the 8 speed has a reverse gear dropping out issue

It was just a bunch of tiny things on the IS-F that happened near the 100k/10year mark that the cost of the LC500 warranty did not seem excessive - especially considering I don't have to worry about the labor rate or anything with my local Lexus dealership and an official Lexus warranty

For my RC-F I did not get the extended warranty, I don't mind having a non-lexus shop work on it

Any thoughts, anyone have experience buying or selling warranties? Pro's an Con's. Yes it is a Lexus as we all say, but its still a machine made by man soooooo?
Thanks everyone.
I have a question about the dates of your situation. Your warranty is up in Sep 2022, extension will keep you good til Feb 2027.
I'd previously thought warranty comes in full years only; meaning even with an extension, your warranty will still expire in Sep of SOME year. How does it expire in Feb?

I thought you had to get the extended before your 4 year, 50k bumper to bumper factory warranty ran out.
You want the Lexus Platinum VSA. If it IS NOT the extended From The Factory it is Garbage.
The cheapest place to get it is Wolverine Toyota in Michigan. $3185 for 10 yr 100,000 mile (since new) Platinum bumper to bumper Factory warranty.
I have bought a Toyota extended for a past Camry and the same for my 2018 LC. 734-242-3900 Ask for Jennifer Taylor. Tell her I sent you. 😉 These prices are as of last Sept 22. PS In case you are wondering all my paperwork says from Lexus Financial, Lexus Extended VSA.

Warranties are completely negotiable and as a huge profit center, don't be afraid to play hardball and negotiate. I don't know how to compare actual warranties, but if you're getting one there's lots of places to check, like your credit union and I've heard good things about this one: https://caredge.com/extended-warranty
That said, my SA has told me that even though I have the 4/50k warranty, there is a 1 year "grace period."

I've never seen ANY Non Factory warranty that a wasn't a Total Ripoff.
Wolverine Toyota is noted Several Places on line as the cheapest place in the U.S. for Factory Toyota/Lexus warranties. There is another dealer in New Hampshire that also uses warranties as a profit center but Wolverine is a little cheaper.
Harder to find Wolverine info now as Toyota dictated dealers could no longer Advertise cheap factory warranties.
Yeah Azmoto that Caredge is Great. They only want $14,000 for their garbage warranty that I only paid $3000 for bumper to bumper Lexus warranty. Great deal. 😆
