Hey guys, sorry to rain on your parade, but you’re both right! The LC is the flagship coupe and the LS is the flagship sedan

Now we can continue hating on bad dealerships per the thread topic yay

Using your preferred reference.. car and driver also calls the LC the flagship. Now how about stop quoting and trying to correct people every time they refer LC as the flagship?

perfectly spoken and the LC 500 is Lexus’s HALO car… in ALL manufacturers the most expensive car or special car is the Halo of the brand… and the flagship sedan is certainly the LS for sure

I am amazed anyone would get 10k off that car. Wonder if its a "pay for what you get" situation. My dealer in Arizona wouldn't budge on my 21 vert. And that was even before supply chain got worse.

Thanks for the replies, moral support is certainly encouraging.

I haven't yet called the dealer, since I'd like to know what leverage against him I might have. After all, I possess the car, but I do not possess a legal title to it. Possession may be a high percentage of the law, but isn't he still legally responsible if anything bad happens with the car? What if my house burns down? I'm not sure the purchase contract, expressed or implied, is defensible if the title is invalid to the buyer.

I paid for the car in full on Nov. 1, today is Jan 28, the title wasn't mailed until Dec. 23 and Illinois law requires dealers to mail titles within 30 days. I live in TN, doesn't matter what law here says except the title is unacceptable to this state in present condition. I'll talk to an attorney Monday but lately I've had airplane problems due to service incompetence at a whole 'nother level.

Ultimately I imagine I'll get the title fixed without comment and without a refund of my $330 documentation fee. So be it, it's time to get plates and drive legally. I may need the car to commute to an attorney's office while my airplane contains mysteries it din't used to, as we say in the mountains. Sure would be nice to get the doc fee back since no proper work was done.

Lexus customer service was no help, low level workers deflected me briefly as such employees are intended to. I did contact Cynthia Tenhouse, VP for customer service who puts her signature on the no-reply survey e-mail buyers receive. I had to do that via her LinkedIn page, but I am not surprised that she has not chosen to respond. I'd like to specifically ask customer service, at this point, exactly what they're there to do for Lexus customers other than answer where the hood release is and thank you for your purchase. Would anyone like to hear back if I receive any delineation of their real function?

Basically, Lexus designs and builds excellent cars. How you obtain one and what happens once the car and the money are exchanged feels no different than buying a $1000 used car from a lot with a trailer office. I still wouldn't rather own another Porsche, but I would rather buy a Lexus from a Porsche dealership!
