Default Is it difficult to park the car without 360 camera?

Hey Everyone,

I’m thinking of purchasing the LC 500 next Spring; I noticed 2022 still doesn’t have a 360 camera, and not sure if they are going to add it in the 2023 model. I just wondering, is it difficult to park the car without a 360 camera, and is it a big issue without it? I would like to hear from the owners

Thanks

I have a hard time to park close to the curb. I have to park far away and then reverse to make it close to the curb without damage the wheel. In some tight space I need more time to maneuver around. One time I am unintentionally park between parking spots lolz. Just wish have 360 camera like mine old RX. Maybe Lexus will add the 360 camera to their last cycle year of LC?

When in doubt use Reverse to park.

Idk if it’s just my city/state I live in but my front parking sensors go off about 18” away from almost every curb when pulling in forward to parking spaces.

I usually end up 12” away.

Same for me, reverse parking is safer. Got to be honest and say I don't have any trouble other than being acutely aware I could easily demolish my alloys and consequently my parallel parking usually results in a generous "safety margin" between the car and kerb! All the more reason to reverse in after, of course, having set up the door mirrors to tilt on selection of reverse gear.

Parking forward hasn’t been a problem for me at all.

When I can see the curb out my side window I’ve got a good sense of how far away my front bumper is because I practiced getting out and looking at distance from a curb when I first got the car.

If I can’t see the curb too well (because of cars or objects on either side) the parking sensor has been very good at warning me how close I am.

Yes.

A first-world problem, for sure, but I have grown so dependent on 360 images from previous BMWs and my wife's RX350, that I now have trouble finding the curb, centering within parking-lot spaces and pulling up close to - but not TOO close to - front-end parking blocks. I've already slightly rashed two wheels. It is simply inexplicable that a vehicle at this price point and OEM image-making does not include or even offer a technological development found on much cheaper vehicles. I knew this going in, but I willfully ignored it when I traded for the LC. I still love my LC, but...

I never had any issues but I used to drive my SC300 everywhere. I find backing into spots a little easier sometimes.

It is weird they still haven’t put the 360 camera on the LC yet. I loved that on the RX350.

I have to admit that it is a little annoying not having the 360 camera. Yes - definitely a MUST for a car in this price range. I just back into all the parking spots using sideview mirrors that tilt downward, rearview camera and looking back (old school way).

I don’t think about it when driving or parking. I think it is a miss for it not to be in the LC because it is the Flagship vehicle for Lexus. But I don’t notice it. One of my cars does have it. It is a nice feature, but would not impact my buying decision. As for ease of parking, I don’t find this car to be any harder to park than other cars. I am always careful to avoid scraped rims or front clips. The side mirrors tilt and are adjustable so that helps too.

Back it in! Wouldn't park any other way.

FYI the LS is the Lexus flagship vehicle.
