Cool Shout Out to Phoenix Family

Just bought a house in San Tan Valley area. Moving from Utah next month. Looking to see who is in or near the metro area. Any LC local clubs/get togethers?

Hey man, thanks. Mostly to help my mom who lives alone in that area. She is almost 80. Also to get out of this **** air in Utah. The smoke from the fires is literally killing me You bought your ride from Lexus of Chandler didn't you? If you may recall I actually drove down there to buy mine because Utah didn't have any. The prodigal son returns lol

There are a number of us in the valley. I'm not full time, but I'm here a lot!

I lived in the Tempe area way back when. Enjoyed the folks but I seem to remember very smoggy days at time for the entire Phoenix Metro area. I believe they even reformulate the gasoline for certain periods of the year to help in the pollution problem. I did a quick Google search and came across this April 21, 2021 article. I seems that Phoenix is rated 5th-WORST air in the USA.

It's good you have a reason other than air quality to move there.

Ozone pollution: Phoenix has fifth-worst air in the US, reports says | Arizona News | azfamily.com

Hey DR, you are correct Phx metro does have bad air (too many people). But I will be out in San Tan area which is better. I will have to measure it when I get there tonight. Regardless, if you look up Salt Lake City the air has ranked like #1 worst air in the WORLD. With the Cali smoke and the mountain trapping in the air it makes for a bad recipe. In the winter we get the inversion and again rank worst air. So I will take 5th over 1st any day

My mom and I built houses last year 12 houses apart…LoL…looks like I won’t have to move when she needs someone close!

I was in Maui for two weeks.

I LOVE being warm and hot!

Enjoy the time with your mom, they are all special. I had the privilege of taking care of my mom until she passed from Alzheimer's, I'm grateful for every minute I had with her.

I've been in NJ most of my life, great area but sick of the winters and looking at Scottsdale. What are your thoughts on the lack of water and persistent drought at Colorado River?

Funny, my mom was raised in NJ. I am no expert on the Arizona water situation but I know a lot of the residential homes where I am moving are on well water. That may make it less of an issue.

Well water to the rescue, just need to treat it to minimize spotting when washing the car.

Enjoy your new home and the warm weather
