The a/c will not come through any of the vents that point directly at me. The defroster vents work, the floor vents work but the air towards driver and passenger won't work. It's as if the mechanical door within the a/c system will not open to allow air towards the occupants.

Any thoughts or ideas on a resolution? Don't want to go to the dealer if I can avoid it.

Sometimes a negative battery terminal disconnect can help. That's temporary But might be a solenoid.

 

when this happened to me, i went to the climate concierge and manually selected "fan", and that cleared it up...
i think the customizable settings may conflict occasionally with the concierge....or induce confusion

 

Just started the car now after it sat for five hours. Works perfectly now. WTF???

 

alternatively, its not WTF, its that in all probability you inadvertently interacted with it and somehow caused this to occur,
and it took a while to clear itself of your booboo

 

I bet you're right. It's a software gremlin that hopefully will be realized and resolved.

Too bad for me it was 90 degrees when this happened and the air through the defroster was no where near sufficient.

 

Child proof... only children can use them however...

 

Had the same problem, but I took it to the dealer because I was right there. they gave me a loaner and had it for six days over the weekend. Said it was servo motors and replaced four of them. Didn't cost anything, but it looked like it would have cost about $1500. to fix.

 

What is the climate concierge?
