Default Passenger Side Mirror

SMH!! Recently hit one of the orange highway construction barrels that are on the side of the road and luckily I just hurt the passenger sideview mirror. Trying to see what options would be best to fix or replace it. Mirror is off the hinge and everything else is in proper working order. Any ideas or suggestions?

I did try some Epoxy Bond to have it put together, wasn't successful

Swing by any body shop for confirmation that it needs replacing. If so, order a new one. These generally come painted from the factory so no paintwork will be needed.

Knowing what these mirrors cost I would certainly have a go at glueing it back together albeit you will see the join forever and a day. I swear by Gorilla Clear Glue which would almost certainly tackle that job providing the break is clean/cleaned and is given the requisite 24 hours plus to dry.

i'd say highly unlikely gorilla glue is going to hold it. mirrors aren't that light with all the glass and motors in them. can't hurt to try though unless it messes up doing a replacement.

I tried a strong adhesive from Home Depot. Apparently has a high hold rating as well. Didn't hold for a single minute. Im looking into local body shop next. Trying to avoid $1000-$1500 expense if I can.

if it's 'only' $1000-1500 it's a no brainer. won't insurance help?

deductible is high, might as well do it out of pocket. Just weighing my options before I spend the $1000-$1500.
It is a weekend fun car

I have an appointment with a local mechanic and will post on here what he recommends or if he can fix it 'fingers crossed'

Good luck! Even if deductible is $1000 and if mirror replacement is $1500, still not worth filing a claim? Or are you worried about premium going up?

Help me to understand how an owner of a $100,000 car is worried about the cost of a $1,500 mirror. Buy a new one and move on.

Food for thought - Maybe being careful and worrying about costs/expenses through life is how people get to be able to afford and enjoy a $100,000 car ??? I paid cash for my LC (I never finance - I only buy what I can afford) and I guarantee I attempt to get the most bang for my buck on every purchase I make.

r1lee, donaldp, all - let's leave out the sidebar conversations and virtue signaling that isn't helpful (posts deleted).

if you or anyone has anything constructive for nanotech, great.

Looks like my mom's dog with one sagging ear Sorry to hear about the unfortunate circumstance. I would sue the orange cone

Found out there were more issues than just a side mirror. Side skirt on passenger side is also damaged where the rear wheel is. Will be filing a claim with insurance and get it taken care of by Lexus. Thanks for everyone’s input and ideas. Much appreciated
