LC Roof questions
I have my eyes out for a LC. An '18-'20 would be fine with lower miles. The Gray Mica sure seems harder to find used though. 🤨
The roof choices have me a bit concerned.
Did the creaking, rattling glass roof continue into the 19 and 20 model years? My cursory Googling only shows it in the intro year. Did Lexus find a For Sure fix for the cars that had it?
I live in the blast furnace that is Central Florida. Have there been any extraneous noise or durability issues with the carbon fiber roof?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a carbon fiber roof too. Only about 3k mi. on mine and it's not left out in the hot (central FL) sun too much but roof looks just like the day i bought it. Mine is also ceramic coated.
I live along the Space Coast, my car spends most of its life in the garage with a car cover on it. My car has just over 7,900 miles and I had the carbon fiber roof PPF’d and ceramic coated. It still looks brand new.
I have a glass roof on the 2018 Inspiration Series. Currently have 6.5K miles and have experienced no issues with roof.
- Prefer the Carbon Fiber roof over the Glass as it weighs less and the Glass Roof does not open to the skies above.
- Does not have the Performance Package as an option, which is a deal breaker for me.
- The interior colors are white, blue, and orange. Blue and Orange are UF colors and I am an ardent FSU dad, I could not in good conscience drive a LC500 with this interior color combination. I could never drive it to or through Tallahassee. Keep in mind that this negative is provided for fun and is not meant to agitate or offend anyone.
- Lastly, I love the Structural Blue color so much that I’d spend large sums of money to fully protect it for the complete vehicle. Even at that, I’d be so nervous to drive it or park it anywhere for fear of any potential damage to the paint, either by accident or on purpose (vandalism).

My 2018 LC has the glass moon roof, and has been quiet in the East coast Florida heat and humidity. No noises associated with it I can hear - full disclosure - I am seriously deaf from flying helo and Fwing aircraft. BUT I do hear a wonderful sound that comes from that NA 5 Liter V8....
