Help me process . . .
Au contraire . . . . But it'd be dumb and immature not to be honest about the realities of it being my sole/primary DD in Chicago. In the snow the car is nearly unusable, though limited slip will help a bit. And driving on Mogadishu-like city streets castrates this beautiful machine.

Go with the LC you won’t regret it. LOL at a Range Rover or F150. Buy a beater SUV in cash to tow the boat or if you don’t need to tow it often rent a truck.
I have joint custody of my children and bought a used loaded Infiniti JX35 to haul the kids and the dog it cost me $11K. Yes it had 145K on odometer but it’s driven every other week and it’s a Nissan at the end of the day. Yes I’ve spent some money on maintenance but still beats a second car note. First a couple of personal principles for context:
1. Buying a (especially new) car is just about the worst possible use of money.
2. The bonus depreciation capture on a 6,000+ GVWR vehicle used for business is a massive tax benefit. For example, I could buy an SUV or pickup truck on 12/31, use it entirely that day for business, and write off the ENTIRE value of the vehicle for that year, including tax, even if financed.
3. Sometimes you have to look at principle #1 and say screw it. =)
I'm a realtor and have been privileged to be able to use my now 10-year old F150 as my vehicle, despite focusing on the higher end and having very high net worth clients. No one seemed to mind that I drove a pickup, which I bought as my ranch truck. But alas, it's now just too old to keep getting away with that. But best vehicle I've ever owned. Bought new, 250K, no problems other than normal maintenance.
Test drove the Coupe earlier this year, but today test drove an IR/Caramel Convertible. Wow. This is not a car you buy on paper. It loses to its competitors from that angle. This is a car you buy for irrational, emotional reasons: a) its sheer beauty, b) that intoxicating exhaust note, and c) the gorgeous interior. Btw as many would concur, the infotainment system is an infuriating POS!
My short list:
1. F150 Limited
2. Range Rover Sport Autobiography
3. LC 500 Convertible
Problem is that I have a boat that occasionally needs to be towed, and that I live downtown in a big city. Hard enough having one car, let alone two. My hesitation on a new F150 Limited ($80K) is that while nice, not really nice enough. Hesitation on the RRS ATB is, well duh, it's a Land Rover product. Nuff said. But they have that British luxury, with serious power and growl. Problem with the Convertible is the loss of the huge tax deduction and that I'd need to keep my current truck (I think? Rent a truck to tow the boat?).
Thoughts???

Personally I always buy new cars. I don't look at a car as an investment. I use other money for that. My car is something that makes me happy. A reward for my hard work. One could call 20k on a vacation a "worst possible use of money". But if that is what makes one happy go for it. Life is short

Personally I really hate that statement. It sounds condescending especially to everyone who has purchased a new vehicle. I understand where you're coming from, but it just doesn't sound right. For me, I can't justify spending more than X amount of dollars and used is the only option I may have.
anyhow, it looks like I woke up on the wrong side of bed.

My first point was there so that I could juxtapose the third point: that sometimes it's okay to enjoy life--and to convey that I've done lots of stupid things in life. Especially in spending money. E.g., RysLC500 is right: boats are a huge hole in the water. I've bought 7 new boats in my life, plus a couple used ones. I'm certainly guilty as charged when it comes to my fishing and boating addiction. Fortunately I'm down to a little 20-footer I love. And--it's been going slowly UP in value since I bought it in 2014. Partly due to the used market, and partly due to it being a cult brand of great quality. Yes, sometimes you gotta just live.
