The GX is getting a new infotainment for next year as part of a refresh. So it's not impossible, but I wouldn't hold out hope either. I think the GX got it because the car was last completely redesigned in 2009 and the next gen doesn't look to be out until 2024. Here's the thread for the 2022 GX for those that are curious. It's a significant upgrade to the infotainment.

well that's good to know. If Lexus really wanted it, they can change that whole setup quite easily. Thanks to tech, this isn't actually quite difficult, just requires them to QA it.
My parents drive the new 2022 MDX and I think that Trackpad is fantastic. Watching Videos of the LC climate settings looks like a nightmare.
back to the LC, the tricky thing with putting in a touch screen is it likely has to come forward and likely be bigger than the current screen. that could potentially ruin the aesthetics of the dash, but not necessarily. i can image a 'gap' being put in the top part to allow a bigger (taller) screen to poke through and also be positioned forward of the current screen to be reachable.
Not to hijack the thread, but in just a month, I have gotten quite comfortable with the touchpad system - I'd much rather see them put some energy into equipping the LC with a front camera and a system capable of creating the birds-eye view that is becoming widely available on cars far less expensive than the LC (including some RXs). I really miss that, for safety and car-body-preservation reasons.

Lexus just introduced a whole new interface which looks amazing but as mentioned... I doubt it will get refit to anything that is not getting a major makeover.
