Congrats @r1lee - Looks like you're in ON. Mind sharing the dealership and how the overall "negotiation" went? I'm in Southern Ontario and have experience with pretty much every dealership in the area. We've bought from 4 dealerships in the area (3 in the past few years), and I serviced at another half dozen when I was in my 20s and was getting crappy service at a number of them and decided to move around. You can DM me if you don't mind talking further.
Also, please update us as you get more information on the 2022 and a firmer delivery date!

I saw this exact car yesterday driving on the Pacific Coast Highway. Very sweet!

I got $5k off my convertible in December.
Lexus of Orland in IL.
Had it shipped to me.
Didn't even have to deal with a salesman--they had the Business Manager handle my deal due to the price of the vehicle.
Super easy.

not getting into politics here but the article says that this luxury tax doesn't go anywhere near enough to reduce the wealth gap.
Anyway, convertible starts at C$122,500 there for example so i guess the luxury tax would be $4500 on that! And that's on top of sales tax.
the lesser of either 10 per cent of its full value or 20 per cent of the value above $100,000. It seems the tax will apply whether you purchase, finance or lease a vehicle.

I didn't have to pay any luxury tax. This is the first I'm hearing of this tax lol just had to check.
MSRP is $122,500. With freight PDI and taxes. Totals with taxes with no discount is around $145,000.
at 10% it's $14,500
at 20% above 100k it would be around $9k.
Expected Jan 1st 2022. The tax is calculated at the lesser of:
