I can not imagine any situation when I would ever want any of the doors to lock automatically. Many cars I’ve had it was pretty simple to go into a menu and nuke this irritating feature. Not finding that with this complex beast, help!
Would like to be able to stop the beep! when locking and unlocking. Did not find such a setting, yet.
Might I suggest getting some good weed, going in the backyard and smoke a fatty, and then get in the car and play with your settings in the garage.
Anyway, here we go:
MENU >
SETUP >
VEHICLE >
VEHICLE CUSTOMIZATION >
DOOR LOCK SETTINGS >
SCROLL ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM >
LOCK/UNLOCK FEEDBACK TONE >
NOW PRESS PLUS OR MINUS >
ALL THE WAY TO ZERO ELIMINATES LOCK/UNLOCK TONE.
Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in reading instructions/manuals either, but with that brings the responsibility to play with the car and learn thru doing. It's not like Lexus has complicated menus.
Oh, and don't drive under the influence of Marijuana. Stay in the garage.

Yesterday I could not get the car to respond to changing those settings. Just tried it again and it worked, if reluctantly. Had to just start the motor to do an effective reboot. Now I can just get in and out, lock and unlock simply and quietly like with my 2003 Tacoma. Less is sometimes more.
I quite appreciate the suggestion for adding Cannabis to the process. Absolutely agree it can be a genuine aid. Back during my career I was forced into sustained abstaining by draconion testing and as of yet have not returned to those days of my youth. Maybe it’s time.

marijuana aside (no thanks), when you play with settings in the garage, do you do it with car running or just in start mode without starting it? i've always heard it's not great for the car to be sitting in start mode for a while but maybe that's wholly outdated on modern cars.

It just depends, both. I've had no issues being in start mode. It shuts itself off after a time and I'll have to hit the start button twice again. Sucks when I'm listening to a good song while tinkering. I don't do much of this anymore I'm pretty well acquainted now. Just make sure and kill the headlights, running lights etc, so as not to unnecessarily drain the battery.
Sometimes when it's raining and I'm sad I sit in her and listen to some Floyd or something. I don't drive her in the rain.
First time I saw the Floyd, my life was forever changed in about three seconds. I had no idea….
So, found some gas today (in Western North Carolina), but undecided for a 300 mile trip East this weekend. State Tennis tournament. Premium may be hard to impossible to find.

I agree with your statement, so much so that I remember the date (first date with my future ex-wife - grin). April 19, 1975 at the Tucson Convention Center - Wish You Were Here tour. I still have the t-shirt (doesn't fit) but not the wife.
