LC 500 Hot Lap
The LC is a heavy car with an aging powerplant, and is slower in a straight line than the supra for twice the price. "That's not what this car is about" etc, that's fine. People wonder why it isn't selling, well there you go.
If they ever do an LC-F and really try to impress us (4L TT V8?), I'll likely buy one new. But the current car is best bought lightly used and heavily depreciated.
if you want straight line speed, get a tesla 3 performance. but 4.4 0-60 in my porky slow LC500 is more than quick enough for me.
These reviewers can compare a Chiron to a Bolt if they choose to
LC 500 and Supra are not typically shopped against each other
Six figure cars aren't generally volume cars, If they are even more niched by not having 4 doors (i.e can be pitched as have some practical purpose) I am always stumped on why folks expect a car like this to sell 5000 units a year in the US

I'm not shopping the LC against the Supra or the RC, the Supra doesn't interest me because it isn't Japanese and the RC will never have the "wow facter" that the LC does. I'd like an LC convertible with more power than what you can buy in the new IS500, RC-F or GS-F. If that's the rumored 660HP LC-F, great. If not, I'll let a blue/tan LC500 convertible depreciate down to about half then pick one up.
I love Toyota products, but it can be frustrating at times waiting for them to do something exciting that you know the bean counters didn't like.
The LC is what it is
The LC F is supposedly kaput
if folks want to keep talking it up, fine with me, would enjoy seeing them
For me the positives of the car overcome the issues (no hard top, no AWD, terrible rear seat room)
I have the NSX for going faster
The LC is for taking nice week end cruises top down with my wife

I've only put the top up twice.

Super fun ride!
Today got to 66 here in Chicago
I took a field trip after work, top down for the first time in months.
Had a nice opportunity for the V8 to clear it's throat. Wonderful variety of sounds from the exhaust on the highway.
On the way out I went windows down on the highway, maximum feel and sound with the wind whipping around, exhilarating.
On the way back, windows up, more serene experience, more relaxing.
Only 1 other driver with the top down in 2 hours of fun time, a woman in a Mustang.

There really isn't a good place to stow a targa top in the Gen 2 NSX
The hybrid battery is pretty much right behind the seats, no room for even a soft briefcase back there
Not having an open top version is one of the bigger issues that have resulted in faint sales for the NSX
I just got back from having mine out on this lovely 60 degree day in Chicago
So much fun to dart around, plus lots of folks staring at that strange object rolling by

I already daily a Tesla, it isn't just about straight-line speed. It's about the fact that Toyota's $55K sport coupe is faster than their $100K sport coupe. Either the Supra is a bargain (BMW, no thanks) or the LC500 should be better for the price. The RC-F is also faster, but then why wouldn't it be: it's the same powerplant as the LC in a car weighing ~500 lbs less.

that blue/tan convertible may end up costing MORE than new down the road.the LC is a sporty gran tourer with a 'naughty' exhaust note if you hit it. it's not a 911 GT3. it's a unique vehicle, with a wonderful but old school V8. it's not for everyone. apparently not for you. and if there ever is an LC-F, it will be $150K and you'll wait what, 5 years before you buy a used one? so lexus truly doesn't care about you as a consumer.
Some interesting comments in here. I will say I am also disappointed in the LC....not in the powerplant or the sounds it makes, the way it looks, the amazing interior, the build quality.....but why the F is it so ridiculously heavy? That's the disappointing part. My large 4 door GS-F is 250 lbs lighter than it. Ugh! I am still in the market for the right one, just because I absolutely love everything about them......except the weight
Carry on.

Carry on.

For the haters, let's review the list again. Every car that is not the LC is a specified performance model; RS, performance, M, Type R, or a Lambo. The LC is a GT car.
