Default Jerky CVT?

I have an '18 with approx 22k miles. For the past few times, the transmission in normal mode would "jerk into gear" in stop-and-go traffic. As I come to an almost a dead stop (not fully stop), traffic would move and I would press the gas pedal (not aggressively) and the transmission would jerk before taking off. Only happened in this scenario.. other time, transmission is smooth... and no problem whatsoever in S or S+ mode.

Normal? or something I should be concerned? Software update?

First question - Do you have an LC500 or an LC500h? The LC500 does not have a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) but the LC500h does. AFAIK there are no other hybrid LC owners on this forum. Last year only 14 LChs were sold. It's a rare bird indeed.

i have the regular LC. I didn't know the LC uses regular type transmission. Always thought it has the CVT since the shift layout on the dash looks eerily similar to a Prius one.

^^^^The LC500 uses a ten speed auto/manual transmission. The transmission's shift points and driving characteristics (in auto mode) can be adjusted by utilizing the various drive modes. I am not aware of anyone complaining of the symptoms you are detailing.

The LC suffers from horrible thud/jerk/delay from R to D though.

Yes we all know YOUR car is the greatest automotive gem in the universe.

Just because YOU haven’t experienced doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Google it! VERY widely reported and discussed, even on this forum.

my beauty runs flawlessly as well - another gem for the universe ! often in normal mode however if
you drive like your daddy told you not too, and lug the motor, or let it stay in too high a gear, it may moan; so
go ahead and use the paddles for what they're for and DOWNSHIFT occasionally and you shouln't shudder so much...
i drive in Sport or Sport +, the default setting, and experience no lag or delay downshifting.
i experience no problem from R to D either....
these cars are engineered so that you engage with them, imo, too

I'm missing the part where he said the jerking didn't exist.
