I had a 458 for a while. Really enjoyed it, but too many people almost hit it every time I left the house. haha

What percentages do you recommend for windshield and windows?

In Florida, the legal limits for auto window tinting are as follows: Front Side Windows: The tint must allow at least 28% visible light transmission (VLT).Back Side Windows and Rear Window: The tint must allow more than 15% VLT

I like my 70% front windshield and 30% sides and back. They work well here in Florida

Anyone in the Atlanta, GA area that has gotten PPF and ceramic or their LC? Would love to hear experiences, costs, and recommendations if possible. TIA!

2026 Update:

Thankfully it doesn't look like the PPF/detail industry was not hit by Covid like everything else.

Seeing the following 2026 prices tin Scottsdale to get my inbound LC 'vert done:

Full Front PPF: $1.9k-$2,600 (higher prices are with the PPF that has the built-in ceramic coat)
Full Car PPF: $6,000-$7,600
Window tint: $350-$450
Ceramic is all over the place like always but seeing around $800-$1,500 depending on stand-alone or adding on top of PPF.
Ceramic wheels: $300-$400

Sounds similar to SA area in TX. Paid 8k for paint correction (minimal needed although they did find one 2.5 inch flaw/light spot likely from sitting at port with bird poop), full body PPF, window tint including front window, and ceramic coating. They included PPF on the touch screen to prevent fingerprints and scuffs over the years.

Very happy with it although a word of caution for full body PPF: do not expect 100% perfection. 99% is doable for a good shop but chasing that last 1% replacing panels with a minor flaw truly isnt worth it and may just make it worse. I have a few minor flaws here and there but they're far less than what driving and washing would do to unprotected paint.

I had PPF on my SC 430 and I don’t know what happened but that stuff got cancer. I must’ve been behind a truck or something and chemicals got on it and the plastic turned mostly black all over. No one and I mean no one could get the 3M PPF off. I finally had to resort to a guy with blasting it with Dry Ice to get it off, but it’s still damaged the crap out of it. PPF is great right up until when it isn’t.

It has advanced a ton over the years. Modern PPF saved my C8's paint from a flatbed blasting it with pea gravel. Was an easy removal and replace for the front piece. That said I wont ever leave mine on for more than 5 years at a time to ensure easy removal even with the better modern stuff. It makes it far easier to keep it swirl-mark free when washing too.

I dont trust the DIY stuff but a good shop using self-healing stuff has been net positive for me on several cars in the last 8 years or so.
