Trunk money on the convertible already That's not a good sign
Lou
IT'S A GOOD SIGN FOR MY BANK ACCOUNT, LOU!!!!!
Saves me $3k on my incoming Convertible!!!
(They were VERY LATE getting these convertibles to market.....I can understand why the trunk money because selling a convertible in fall-winter in most states is NOT the same as summer, when these were supposed to arrive.)
I'm betting they won't offer the discount on an inspiration series and special order . . . . . . but my fingers are crossed for you! Let us know how this works out.

Already talked to my finance person at Lexus today to confirm.
I didn't Special Order my LC. It was part of their regular allotment.
Okay, that's good news. I didn't know you were financing it. They have room to play when your financing or leasing. I haven't financed a vehicle in so long I wasn't thinking of that.
I'm still hoping to try one on for size, but none remain available anywhere within hundreds of miles in any direction of my location in North Florida. It's pretty...frustrating.
Very strange situation with these in terms of inventory
On any given day, I only see about 50 cars nationally on CarGurus.
In reality many of these haven't been received by the dealerships.
The first dealer I visited had a coupe for me to sit in (I had already briefly driven a coupe at a Lexus event 1-2 years ago).
The second dealer's site said they had a car but it hadn't been received. They did call me up when it came in and I got to sit in it. (Pre-sold unit, Nori green on caramel with sand top, not my thing but I did bond with the interior). The salesman who showed me the car said he had a Doctor on the East coast trying to wire him full payment for the car and he had to explain that it wasn't available.
The first white with black top on caramel incoming car I found was coming to a dealership in Kentucky. The salesperson said it was available and I was trying to get pricing sorted out. A week later I found out the GM had pre-sold it to an important local customer. They were actually very good about apologizing and being transparent, I just had to keep looking).
New ones are kind of dripping into the market but not piling up, makes me kind of think the $3K trunk money was pre-planned. Good for folks coming after me. I got a discount slightly larger than that so no complaints. I did have to pay for shipping but I chalk that up to market inefficiency for goods with constrained inventory.

Dealers are also listing the pre-sold units as well.
I check cars.com every morning and have made some calls to dealers and it seems that they are listing these as soon as they get their monthly allocation VINs from Lexus with cars that have shipped but are still on the water.
