Question LC - Cupholder

LC owners: I like some views and perspectives on your feelings about the Cupholder in the LC models. As a GT vehicle, i would expect a pretty decent cupholder for long drives and getting drive-thru drinks..
The cupholder looks pretty shallow to me, what can it hold or what can't it hold is the question??

Thanks

I think I recall the owners manual advising against using the square one as a drink holder(?). The round forward one is more secure and useful, but barely. It's so close to the dash that my coffee tumbler hits the climate buttons sometimes. Lexus is basically telling you - don't drink and drive...

Does Lexus offer an LC 500-exclusive square cup/tumbler/mug as an accessory for this square cupholder?

the square area may be used by some as a cup holder but not sure that's what it was intended for

LOL - not likely... Page 265 of the owner's manual (link below) says "Do not place cups, beverages, cans, etc. in the auxiliary box." The only thing that's officially designated as a "cup holder" in the manual is the round forward holder. I've used that square one to hold cups, but it is pretty shallow. It actually works well for square bottles of Fiji water.

I only put regular size soda can in the round one. The problem is my palm would turn off the volume **** when come to remove the can from the cupholder. I only use the square one with bottle that has a cap in case it gets spilled.

I usually put my phone in the square one unless I have a passenger and we get drinks. Can't take the corners too fast without holding on to the drink in the square one.

So no cupholder solution yet for the LC? I would think you could easily put some accessory into the center console that has a raised platform for 2 cups. Gotta be able to get fast food with the wife...

I started working on a simple template for the square section to hold a round cup.
got distracted and the clay mold used wasnt viable. other priorities and it got
pushed to the wayside. but you can make a square insert that will allow a round
cup.

I got a story for ya. Back in 1962 I had a brand new Mercury Meteor, my first new car. It was white with red vinyl bucket seats (that's what they called them) I was living on the east coast. Went out with my first wife to a drive-in. We ordered, the food came and my wife placed the ketchup (catsup) on the dash. Next thing I know she spilled it - Right into the defroster outlet. I had to take the dash apart to clean it and get rid of the smell. Since then I have never eaten in any of my vehicles. I only use the cup holder to carry drinks that are covered - From point "A" to point "B".

Pretty clear why she now is referred to as your first wife.
