Default LC500 ambien light

Hi everyone,
I was at the Lexus dealer looking at the LS500. The rectangular bos on the driver side (to the right of the analog clock) where there are wavy lines had ambien light. My LC500H has the same box but there is no light, Just Wondering if anyone else with LC500 that has the ambien light in that box. It seems to have no purpose. How do you get some sort of nice ambien lights?

Light from the box in LS500

Ours do have a white ambient light but it's not all that visible in daylight.

All LCs have it. As SuperGT posted, you can't see it during the day unless it's very dark. And, I believe that accent lighting is dimmable - so check your interior lighting dimmer. The interior lighting on the 2018s is inadequate IMO. Hopefully they've upgraded that on newer models(?).

I've upgraded my interior and boot lighting to high lumen LED's, problem solved.

Yup. I remember that. I swapped my visor bulbs with Brighter LEDs first day I owned the car. Still annoying that such great detail was paid to the interior elements, but factory lighting was so unimpressive.

Would you please kindly point to where to purchase and how to "upgrade" lightings. I really want to get some lighting flares for my car. TIA

Trying to revive this thread. Wondering if anyone has been able to figure out a way to avoid the ambient lights from dimming when putting the car in drive. Hoping someone has figured this out.....

I also would love the ambient light to stay at a high intensity after the car is in drive also. Are we able to set it to not dim out after 30 sec?

If I had these lights I'd probably be sleeping a lot more....

I can't believe that somebody hasn't figured this out yet.

I'm surprised as well. There must be a hack somewhere that would disengage the lights from dimming when putting the car into drive....

It is a customizable parameter by the dealer using TechStream. Only the doors can be set to stay full brightness. The dashboard accent, sadly can not.
