Hello,
I hear a clunking noise on my Lexus LC500 each time I step on the gas and brake. It is coming from the rear on the right side. What that could be? Is it the electronic parking brake? The car has only 11,000 km. Please help.
On the LS430, it's sometimes traced to the shims on the brake pads, but more so because a brake pad job was done and they were not replaced (the reason is they are $50 per axle and kinda a nice souvenir for the tech, je me souvenir). One test is to note if the sound is heard at the onset of braking, or while braking (the former in this issue). Another is sway bar end links. Your car is too new for this one. I would take it to the dealer as there should be an adjustment warranty for around 19,312 km or so.
What I mean is, each time I accelerate ( normal city driving ) and / or brake, I hear a clunking noise, coming from the back, as if there’s something in the trunk that’s loose and moves forward and backwards.

I bought it used from Canada few months ago. So no warranty. Anyway, I took it to the dealer for oil change once it arrived and they said everything is ok when hooked to the scanner. Recently, I started hearing that noise.
i will take back to the dealer once it opens, everything is shut down here because of coronavirus.
Do you have a rear automatic spoiler? Mine makes noise especially when I am slowing down and it is retracting. Just a thought
I had the same issue when I bought the car.
I kept hearing the clunking noise and though there was something wrong.
I even returned to the dealer but they tested the car on the back of the dealer parking lot and reported that there was nothing wrong with the car. (they just never sped up fast enough to raise the spoiler).
After a while ( and many start/stops trying to diagnose the noise) I realized the spoiler makes the noise when it closes.
I decided to turn it off in the city due to the frequent start/stops.
It can be turned off on the settings or it can be deployed all the time.
So, if that is Ziad's problem, it has a simple fix.

Did Toyota figure out why is this? Deplorable rear wings have been there for a long time and a lot of daily drive cars has that too, like A7. I didn’t recall I saw anyone complains this noise issue on Audi forum.
Sounds a stupid yet simple error.....If this sound is so annoying I would just directly go to the touring package. Although I do like the CF roof.

hello,
yes it’s the performance package, however, I always disable the spoiler when driving in the city, plus I don’t accelerate much and reach the certain speed that automatically activate it.

hi,
I don’t think it’s a spoiler issue. I usually drive in the city and I don’t speed much so it rarely raises up.
i think it’s a brake thing or something that’s loose. I frequently hear it when start stop. I’m sure it’s coming from the rear and on the passenger side.
Search this forum and you will find several threads talking about it. I have them all, fixed 3 out of 4 so far
Just saying, “famous for” is an overstatement as 99.9% of cars have “some” noise issues within the first year or two. Only had the roof liner noise in my case, which I fixed myself after reading about all the unsuccessful attempts from dealers on posts here. My Lambo, Porsche and both Alpinas all have at least one rattle/noise each BTW.
